Introduction

Mohawk Valley Community College provides accessible, high-quality educational opportunities to meet the diverse needs of our students. We are the community’s college, committed to student success through partnerships, transfer and career pathways, and personal enrichment. The College, which spans two campuses – one in Utica and another in Rome – offers 90 degree and certificate options for its enrollment of 6,000 full- and part-time students. We are part of the State University of New York (SUNY) system, which is the largest comprehensive system of higher education in the United States. This system, comprised of 64 institutions, provides endless opportunities for our students and alumni. MVCC’s tuition, the sixth lowest in the SUNY system, along with a robust scholarship program and services including a campus-to-campus direct shuttle help make the College accessible to everyone. There are 22 intercollegiate athletic programs and more than 50 student clubs and organizations, providing students with a variety of activities to express themselves and explore their options. International Students at Mohawk Valley Community College are provided with resources through the International Admissions Office and the International Student Services Office, to ensure a smooth transition into the community and the U.S. Educational System. Students attend a week-long orientation prior to the start of classes where they can become comfortable with the campus, other students, and the faculty and staff. Continued support includes monthly activities, the International Club, a Mentor Program, and daily office hours to speak directly to an International Advisor.
