Introduction

Welcome to the College of Marin

Established in 1926, College of Marin is one of 113 public community colleges in California. There are two campuses to serve you in beautiful Marin County. The Kentfield Campus is located approximately 11 minutes north of the Golden Gate Bridge at 835 College Avenue in Kentfield. The Indian Valley Campus is located minutes away on a spectacular 333-acre site on Ignacio Boulevard in Novato, CA.

Accreditation

College of Marin is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges, and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, an institutional accrediting body recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation and the U.S. Department of Education.

Student Life

Approximately 13,000 students enroll annually in the College's many outstanding credit, noncredit, and community education classes. The College has earned a reputation as a quality educational institution providing a pathway for achievement and success for students of all ages and from all walks of life. In order to provide students with the opportunities they need, and to ensure that students achieve their specific goals and objectives, the College offers Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degree programs. College of Marin participates in guaranteed admissions to specific University of California campuses. Each year many international students who have completed studies at College of Marin have successfully transferred to UC Berkeley, UCLA, and UC Davis, among others. In addition, the College has a Transfer Center, which is staffed for the purpose of helping students research transfer and admissions requirements. The College provides thirty-three career technical education programs (CTE), as well as providing basic skills, English as a Second Language (ESL) education, and community education classes. The College's CTE programs provide the necessary skills for success in a globally competitive workforce environment. Whether the goal is career advancement, career change, or entering the workforce for the first time, College of Marin offers a range of programs to help students succeed.
