Introduction

The ITA is a Public Institution of Higher Education, of the municipal order, with legal status, administrative autonomy, and independent patrimony, attached to the Ministry of National Education, and Redefined by cycles through Resolution No. 8958 of October 13, 2011, of the Ministry of Education. National Education.

The ITA summarizes all the alternatives that the country found to meet the needs of the agricultural sector, of which it is the best interpreter in higher education.

In the beginning, with the spirit of agrarian reform in the middle of the 20th century, the ITA acted in the training of farmers, with two stages that lead to the Certification as Agricultural Instructors, in the understanding of being multipliers by trade in the initial five years and scientific approach in four years of secondary education. Years later, industrial schools were born in Colombia as Higher Technical Institutes, being in the agricultural area the transition from Agricultural Vocational Farm, of which it was signatories, to Agricultural Normal, in which it would become to train multipliers in the field.
