Introduction
The Civil Engineering Technology program is designed to prepare the graduate for work with a civil engineer, surveyor, contractor, or materials testing laboratory to perform general engineering practices and materials performance evaluations. These may include surveying, designing, drafting, materials testing, and cost estimating construction projects.
The Civil Engineering Technology program is designed to provide advanced technical and communication skills to students. Upon graduation, the student should perform technical tasks and report results to the appropriate authority. A portion of the Associate in Applied Science degree is accepted by the University of Southern Mississippi (USM), School of Engineering Technology, in the four years Construction Engineering Technology bachelor degree program.
