This qualification covers workers who use organisation policies, procedures and individual children’s profiles to plan activities and provide care to children, facilitating their leisure and play and enabling them to achieve their developmental outcomes. Depending on the setting, workers may work under direct supervision or autonomously.

Having sufficient relevant Community Services industry experience working in a support role without any formal qualifications
Pathways from the qualification:
After achieving CHC30712 Certificate III in Children Services, participants may undertake: CHC50908 Diploma of Children Services (Early Childhood Education and Care). Participants may also seek employment opportunities as detailed below in Employment Opportunities.
Participants would need to fulfil the following requirements:
- IELTS 5.5 OR Equivalent.
- Successful completion of year 11 or equivalent level of study
- Applicants must be 18 years of age or above.
Candidates must undertake National Police check and Working with Children Check before commencing work placement.

Teaching Methods/Mode of Study
Classroom and self-based learning, as well as work placement.
Learners will be assessed through Written Assessment, Research and Workplace throughout the course.
Recognised Prior Learning (RPL)
An RPL process is in place for learners who wish to gain either recognition for an individual unit or the complete qualification.
There are no pre-requisites for this qualification.
