What is it like to study this course and how will I be assessed?

Psychology is the scientific study of the mind and behaviour. You will acquire knowledge of theory and its applications, and develop skills of evaluation and analysis.

You will be taught in a variety of ways including taking notes during lectures, group and whole class discussions, as well as exploring topics through videos and DVDs. You will undertake individual study, pair work and presentations.

What topics will I study?

The study of Psychology is underpinned with the study of main perspectives or approaches and debates. There is no singular cause of behaviour, so it is important to consider the relative strengths and weaknesses of several approaches, such as biological, behavioural and psychodynamic. Psychologists employ a variety of methods when researching human behaviour.
